Handens handelsområde

The Handen Handelsområde retail park is situated at the Handen Trafikplats intersection and the junction between Gudöbroleden and road 73. There are plans to built shops, offices, small-scale industries, premises for tradespeople (e.g. joiners and painters), car service enterprises and similar businesses in the area south-west of the intersection. The land in the north-west is intended for retail premises and car service centres, and further retail trading is planned for the north east. The dominating operations are hypermarkets for food and bulky goods and a number of petrol stations. The companies Coop Forum, ICA MAXI and Siba currently trade in the area. The retail park is part of the regional core of central Haninge Centrum.

Location and communications

Handen Handelsområde retail park is located about 15 minutes south of central Stockholm, roughly 1 km north of Handen alongside the road Nynäsvägen and along the Gudöbroleden road towards Vendelsö. By public transport, you can reach the area by bus and commuter train. Direct buses run to Gullmarsplan (an interchange in Stockholm with connections to other buses and the Metro) and central Stockholm, and to Haninge Centrum with connections to the commuter train network. By commuter train or direct bus you can reach central Stockholm in about 20 minutes. The regional cycle route between Stockholm and Nynäshamn is situated alongside Nynäsvägen.

There are plans for a possible expansion of the Handen intersection to improve access for cars and buses. Expansion of the new commuter train station, Vega, may also be significant here.

Commercial service

The range of non-durables and consumer durables is extensive thanks to the Coop Forum and ICA Maxi hypermarkets which are both in this area. A restaurant, café and fast food are also available. A wider range of general services are on offer in the nearby shopping centre Haninge Centrum.

The planned expansion of Vegastaden includes a new municipal-district centre, with small shops that will supplement the commercial services in the retail park.
